The 'New' Schoolyard
What's New?
At NAIS 2010, Schoolyard introduced the first open source system exclusively for independent school websites. We are the oldest company in the independent school website market, having built 150 school websites between 1995 and 2007. In 2007 we retired our expensive proprietary system and shortly thereafter began development of an open source alternative built on the Drupal platform. For schools seeking a website solution at the crest of proven current technologies, reflecting the enormous cost benefits of open source, Schoolyard is an excellent option.
Our New Approach: Open source for Schools
“Old” Schoolyard invested a small fortune in the development of SitePages, our former content management system (CMS). Today, through a variety of open source platforms, anyone can download a more robust CMS free of charge in a matter of minutes. Schoolyard has joined the Drupal community to compile a school-specific CMS with an impressive array of integrated modules for release in new school sites this spring.

Back to Basics
Communication is essential to our work with our clients. Whether its concerning information architecture, design, web standards, or even the brief forays into personal matters that help to cement relationships - it serves as the foundation of our work. Email, social media, phone calls and even via texting (yes - there are some clients with my cell #) - all are depended upon but not all are created equal in their effectiveness.
